Escape from Lockdown!

Walhampton pupils are delighted to be back with their friends and playing in 'pods'

Back at School!
After months of unsettling quiet without our pupils and staff, the final weeks brought joyful, light relief to the most extraordinary term in the school’s history. Walhampton was delighted to be able to welcome back children from all year groups for the last two weeks of the summer term.

We had to stagger the times when each year group could be in school, keep children in their class ‘pods’, have picnic lunches outside, allow children to wear their home clothes and unfortunately not open our boarding house.

But it was all worth it for those who came.... the school was filled with laughter as the children enjoyed fun activities which raised spirits and brought friends back together before the long holiday.

The Government has now published its advice and guidelines for schools in September and whilst many of the current restrictions will remain, including keeping children in separate pods and staggering moments of heavy traffic such as drop-off and mealtimes, we will hopefully be moving a step closer to normal school life.

Lessons will be taught in classrooms rather than recorded, children will be in uniform and the best news is that we can reopen Bradfield boarding house. We look forward to welcoming back our boarders and all of our pupils.
